Somo has been shortlisted for three prestigious titles at this year’s NACFB Commercial Lender Awards, recognising its standout performance, innovation, and people-first approach in the bridging finance sector.

Somo is proud to be named a finalist in:

  • Bridging Lender of the Year

  • BDM Team of the Year

  • Marketing Team of the Year

The NACFB Awards celebrate excellence across the UK’s commercial lending community, and Somo’s multiple nominations underline its position as one of the sector’s most dynamic and trusted lenders.

Commenting, NACFB CEO Jim Higginbotham said: “The calibre of this year’s entries was outstanding, and I’d like to extend my thanks to our distinguished judging panel for their thoughtful assessments and dedication to what was an exceptionally tough task. My congratulations also go to those who secured a place on the shortlist.

“I also want to acknowledge and thank those organisations and individuals that didn’t make the shortlist this time. We truly value the effort, passion, and commitment that went into your submissions. Although we understand your disappointment, we would warmly encourage you to take part again next year,” he added.

NACFB Member brokers are now invited to vote for their preferred Patron lender or Partner supplier in each category. Member voting is open for a week, closing at 5pm on Monday 20th October.

Member brokers who are eligible to vote will be sent a password to access the voting platform and are limited to five votes per firm per category.

Bridging made simple

At the heart of Somo’s success is one clear principle: Why make bridging difficult?

From one-hour offers and a fully paperless process to its pioneering Valuation Only approach – lending against the security, not the borrower’s profile – Somo continues to redefine what fast, flexible, and responsible bridging looks like.

The people behind the performance

Somo’s BDM team has earned its reputation as one of the most approachable, solution-driven teams in the industry – combining commercial sharpness with genuine warmth.

This year, the team’s NACFB Breakfasts in the North and South have become standout fixtures on the industry calendar, giving brokers the chance to connect directly with Somo in an atmosphere of humour, insight, and collaboration.

Their dedication to broker success is reflected in Somo’s record-high 48% repeat business rate and a growing community of 20,000+ active brokers and introducers.

Marketing that gets people talking

Behind Somo’s growing profile is a small but powerful marketing team focused on building a high-impact, recognisable brand that connects brokers and lenders in meaningful ways – not just through paid advertising.

From memorable campaigns at NACFB events to the creation of regular Bridging Roundups, case studies, and digest content, the team’s emphasis on clarity, consistency, and creativity has helped Somo achieve measurable growth in broker acquisition and investor engagement.

Their inventive approach – from sponsoring breakfasts to staging a boxing-glove-wearing violinist at the NACFB Expo – shows that Somo’s message, “Why make bridging difficult?”, resonates because it’s real, relatable, and refreshingly human.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Jade Keval, Sales Director at Somo, said:

“Being shortlisted across three categories is a huge achievement and a proud moment for the whole team. These nominations reflect the energy, creativity, and commitment that every person at Somo brings to making bridging easier for brokers and their clients. We’re delighted that the NACFB and our peers recognise that spirit.”

Looking ahead

With the NACFB Awards ceremony taking place on Thursday 27 November 2025 at the Westminster Park Plaza, Somo’s team is looking forward to celebrating alongside industry peers and partners who continue to drive innovation and excellence in commercial lending.
